The Acacia Table
Born out of a need for a convenient spot to set down a drink—and the challenge of limited lumber!
After our guests left, my wife and I realized how useful a couple of side tables would have been for holding drinks. The next day, I checked my inventory and found that I had nothing but scraps—no usable boards in sight. Determined to make it work, I gathered every piece that was at least four square inches. I had some thick Maple stock, so I milled it into cubes, stacked them together, and added Walnut accents on the top and bottom. And just like that, the Acacia Table was born—named for its resemblance to the Acacia Tree.
The version pictured above, featuring wine glass slots uses Maple for the top and bottom, with a sculpted Walnut shaft. It includes built-in slits to securely hold wine glasses and even has a hanger for an ice bucket—perfect for entertaining!
